Summary
- This is a 3-month contract with a local authority focused on leading and managing the Childrens First Contact Service. The role is crucial in ensuring a consistent timely and effective response to all referrals related to early help children in need and child protection. The Team Manager will oversee the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) supervising staff and coordinating multi-agency input to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Childrens First Contact Service including oversight of MASH referrals.
- Ensure all incoming contacts and referrals are triaged and directed appropriately in line with Pan-London threshold guidance.
- Supervise and support a team of social workers and referral officers providing reflective supervision and performance management.
- Lead multi-agency discussions and decision-making processes to assess risk and determine appropriate interventions.
Essential Experience Required
Extensive experience working within a MASH environment.
Proven track record in safeguarding and child protection within a statutory childrens services setting.
Experience in supervising and managing staff including conducting reflective supervision.
Strong understanding of multi-agency working and threshold frameworks.
Experience in managing complex cases and making defensible decisions under pressure.

- Enhanced DBS is required for the role.

The Childrens First Contact Service co-ordinates incoming referrals and seeks to ensure that they follow the appropriate pathway for the childs needs according to Pan Londons threshold matrix.
Required Education:
Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
