Job Summary

Every memorable dining experience at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge begins behind the scenes with our culinary teams commitment to safe efficient operations and exceptional cuisine. As First Cook the care you devote to all aspects of food preparation will result in the creation of truly spectacular fare. 

Starting Rate: $21.38 per hour                       

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Executive Chef responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Execute oversee food items for a la carte and/or banquet menus in service to hotel recipes and standards
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas utensils and equipment
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items daily features and promotions
  • Responsible for ensuring preparation of all pertinent food items for work station and able to maintain the departments level of production and guest expectations in the absence of the Chef de Partie
  • Monitor present and upcoming business volumes as well as food items and to communicate relevant information to their department in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Your experience and skills include:

  • 2-3 years kitchen experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel or reputable restaurant required
  • Successful completion of Albertas Food Handler Certification
  • Diploma or equivalent Certification in a Culinary program required
  • Strong Knife skills and safe handling is required
  • Valid Alberta drivers license an asset

Additional Information :

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
