Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meal service including washing peeling chopping and portioning
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures including temperature monitoring and storage protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area including workstations equipment and utensils
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation and service
- Adhere to all food industry regulations and guidelines including health department standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as grills fryers and ovens
- Monitor food inventory and communicate restocking needs to the kitchen manager
- Plate dishes according to presentation standards and portion sizes
- Participate in regular kitchen meetings and training sessions
- Adapt to changing menu items and seasonal ingredients
- Maintain a positive attitude and work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries ensuring proper rotation of ingredients
- Contribute to a positive work environment by supporting team members and maintaining open communication
Qualifications :
- 1-2 years of previous fast-paced line cook experience required
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
- Manual dexterity required to use knives and kitchen appliances
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current food handlers certification preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and recipes
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a kitchen setting
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in hot kitchen conditions
