Key Responsibilities

Lead review and oversee the preparation of corporate personal and trust tax returns ensuring accuracy and adherence to all regulatory requirements.

Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals private companies and corporate groups.

Manage and mentor a team of tax professionals fostering professional development and ensuring high-quality client deliverables.

Conduct and oversee complex tax research and analysis interpreting legislation to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

Support clients through CRA audits reviews and appeals including preparation of responses and representation.

Oversee corporate reorganizations estate planning cross-border transactions and other specialized tax projects.

Collaborate with partners and other departments to drive firm-wide tax initiatives identify growth opportunities and strengthen client relationships.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Canadian tax laws emerging regulations and best practices to advise clients proactively.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates meeting these qualifications will be given priority consideration for interviews:

CPA designation (CA CMA or CGA) is required.

Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax Course (or equivalent advanced tax training) is strongly preferred.

Minimum 8 years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.

Proven ability to manage complex tax files involving corporate reorganizations succession planning and tax minimization strategies.

Demonstrated success in client relationship management business development and strategic advisory work.

Strong technical proficiency in Canadian Income Tax Act tax compliance software and Microsoft Excel.
