Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager 6 - Food and Nutrition Services to lead the hospitals daily operations for their food team located in Washington DC. This is a 900-bed hospital where the GM will lead the entire Food & Nutrition operations including patient meal services retail the doctors lounge and catering. Must also be able to direct all contract management service operations at a single account/unit and maintain customer satisfaction and good public relations.


Job Duties:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Deliver high-quality food service.
  • Achieve company and client financial targets and goals.
  • Develop and maintain client and customer relationships.
  • Create a positive environment.
  • Ensure company standards are met.
  • Direct and manage all contract services through managers.
  • Oversee the management/administrative team who are responsible for special functions cash control and payroll.
  • Most tenured employees assigned to an account may have multiple clients and/or satellite locations.
  • Drive growth by providing local leadership and strategic direction while developing a team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day-to-day operations.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of functional experience.
  • Must be able to nurture relationships and patient experience.
  • Must be able to develop staff participate in staff engagement and have an understanding of regulatory compliance in DC is a plus.
  • A work history demonstrating strong leadership skills as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • General Manager-Food & Nutrition leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities demonstrate professional communication skills and have a passion for a high level of customer service.
