As a Competence Lead you will join a practice that is focused on defining best practices ensuring solution quality and driving the professional development of the Dynamics 365 BC consulting team. This is a strategic role that blends high-level functional consulting with people management and technical oversight. Responsibilities
The Competence Lead role combines deep functional expertise technical guidance and team leadership. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Solution Design: Acting as the Dynamics 365 BC Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Solution Architect on complex projects driving the definition of overall solution architecture and ensuring designs meet both business requirements and best practice standards.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Coaching mentoring and providing technical guidance to the team of Dynamics 365 BC Consultants fostering their professional growth and improving the overall competence level of the practice.
- Quality Assurance & Standards: Defining and enforcing consulting and project delivery methodologies including standards for documentation configuration data migration and testing to ensure consistent high-quality project outcomes.
- Complex Implementation Support: Stepping into critical projects to resolve high-level functional and architectural challenges drive key decision-making and manage client expectations at the senior stakeholder level.
- Pre-Sales and Practice Growth: Supporting pre-sales activities including participating in client presentations and demonstrations estimating project scope and effort and contributing to the strategic development of new service offerings for the Business Central practice.
- Knowledge Management: Leading knowledge-sharing initiatives workshops and internal training to ensure the team is up-to-date with the latest Dynamics 365 BC releases Power Platform integrations and industry trends.
Requiements
To be successful as the Competence Lead you must possess a proven track record of both consulting excellence and technical leadership:
- Extensive Dynamics 365 BC Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in full-cycle implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or Dynamics NAV/Navision) demonstrating expertise across multiple core functional modules (e.g. Finance SCM).
- Consulting Leadership: Proven experience in a Lead Consultant or Functional Architect role where you were responsible for solution design delivery methodology and project governance.
- People Development: Demonstrated experience in mentoring junior to mid-level consultants including performance coaching and skills development.
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of the technical architecture of D365 BC the AL language (for customisation oversight) and deep integration experience with the Power Platform (Power Automate Power Apps).
- Strategic Communication: Superior communication presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical and functional concepts to both technical teams and C-level clients.
