Job Summary:
The Adult Education Data Coordinator/Program Support position combines the responsibilities of collecting and maintaining performance data of a grant-funded program with supporting the Adult Education Program. This is a part-time position.
Essential Functions:
- Enroll students face to face and over the phone in a courteous and welcoming manner.
- Maintain student administrative files.
- Support the program orientation for new students.
- Conduct student assessments as required for programs.
- Assist with GED testing through Pearson at both Arkansas City Main Campus and Winfield Correctional facility.
- Maintain the state adult education database and ensure that all data is current and reports are accurate.
- Coordinate with Adult Education instructors CTE instructors and area agencies.
- Attend staff development meetings and conferences.
- Obtain necessary professional development as determined by the director.
- Assist with the planning of the GED graduation ceremony and reception.
- Maintain courteous professional and effective working relationships with employees vendors and/or any other representatives of external organization.
- Assist with promotion and social media for the program.
- Comply with all College policies and procedures
- Assist the Adult Education Program Director by performing other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to organize coordinate and work effectively within a team approach.
- Strong English language skills (spelling word usage and meaning etc.)
- Computer literate (understanding of the Windows environment and MS Office Products)
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Ability to work and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Good communications skills both written and oral.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work. Work well under deadline pressures.
- Excellent human relations skills. Ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
Required Education Background:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
Required Experience:
Clerical experience and data entry preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; ability to move freely around the campus and outreach centers; ability to lift up to 20 pounds; ability to bend stoop reach and grasp as required to perform responsibilities; ability to drive motor vehicle; and ability to work on the computer for long periods of time.
Work Environment:
Work performed in an office environment and classroom.
