To lead the People and Organisation Function team to support site leadership in creating an effective culture that encourages people to give of their best in the achievement of safe productive outcomes.
Safety:
- Create a safety culture through productive and authorized operational systems/processes that allow all employees (including contracting partners) to provide their outputs in a risk-controlled environment.
- Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
Performance and Delivery:
- Break down Corporate/BU P&O requirements and performance targets to site level translate into site-specific targets and budgets and communicate to on-site P&O teams.
- Provide labour resourcing input into site-specific 5-year plan and 1-year budget.
- Develop and align site P&O initiatives and programmes with BU strategy.
- Provide input to BU and monitor P&O reporting to ensure that it is adhered to in time and at the required level of quality.
- Ensure on-site structures roles and processes are set up to sustainably deliver a 5-year plan.
- Lead site employee relations with workforce and unions.
- Provide on-site P&O advice and support across a wide range of people and cultural activities.
- Embed new technologies into the on-site P&O work once solution design is execution ready.
- Manage delivery of the sustainability activities as relevant to the discipline and set out in the Life of Asset Plan to improve sustainability performance over time. Implement and participate in processes that build relationships with key local stakeholders.
People & Teams:
- Implement a purpose-driven high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values is inclusive and promotes diversity supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.
Compliance:
- Develop required compliance governance for the discipline on an operational level. Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory legislative and permitting requirements.
This role is at a Band 5 level reporting to the Senior General Manager

Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in HR Business Finance or related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Management is desirable
Experience and technical knowledge required for the role:
- 7 10 years relevant working experience preferably in Mining.
- Identification of key strategic risks and opportunities that could materially impact the operation and implementation of appropriate processes and systems to mitigate/leverage them.
- Establishment of a culture within discipline in which safety and health is paramount and that results in zero fatalities.
- Promote accountability high performance and lead diverse teams with aligned goals.
- Understand the impact of behaviours on engagement and responses to management decisions.
- Role model productive behaviours and prepare for the impact of changes on workforce and stakeholders.
- Inspire others to contribute to company objectives and engage in continuous change.
- Translate strategy into tailored messages actively listen and consult to uncover issues and opportunities.
