Position Summary:

Our growing digital agency is looking for a Controller to lead our accounting and finance functions.

The Controller will be a strategic partner to the leadership team ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and providing insights to drive smart business decisions. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to help shape the financial future of the agency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

• Lead all aspects of the Accounting Department including revenue recognition accounts receivable accounts payable payroll reporting analysis and more.
• Own the monthly quarterly and year-end close and reporting processes including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Partner with outside tax firm to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Maintain cash flow forecasts and working capital management to support operating needs.

Budgeting Forecasting & Analysis

• Lead the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with department leaders.
• Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to leadership.
• Assist in tracking KPIs and financial dashboards to measure agency performance (e.g. utilization billings margins client profitability).

M&A Support

• Partner with leadership on financial due diligence modeling and valuation of acquisition opportunities.
• Support integration of acquired entities into financial systems processes and reporting structures.
• Track post-acquisition performance including earn-out and synergy analysis.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Supervise and develop accounting staff fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial practices with business objectives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team on financial strategy and risk management.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 7 years of experience in public and/or private accounting.
• Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA license required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience leading month-end/year-end close.
• Proven experience with budgeting forecasting and financial analysis.
• Exposure to M&A (due diligence integration or post-deal reporting) strongly preferred.
• Experience in a client services agency or digital/creative environment is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Strong proficiency with Excel Quickbooks Online financial analysis and budgeting.

Salary Range: $120000 - $150000 depending on experience
