Job Summary
Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert has partnered with a mid-sized trade services organization in the suburbs of Chicago that is searching for a Controller on a permanent basis.
This role will be the top finance and accounting profession in the organization and will be responsible for leading training and completing the accounting and finance function on an in-office basis.

This role will be the top finance and accounting profession in the organization and will be responsible for leading training and completing the accounting and finance function on an in-office basis.
The client will be responsible for:
- Oversight of all finance and accounting functions to include Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and General Ledger
- Leading team of 3 accountants
- Financial reporting for multiple entities and funds
- Compliance activities within the accounting department
- Representation of the finance organization on the leadership team
- Presenting monthly quarterly and yearly reporting and analytics to executive team
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate should have the following background:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related major from a reputable institution
- CPA and/or public accounting experience is preferred but not required
- 10 years of experience in accounting including 3 at a Manager/Director level
- Experience with Quickbooks Online
- Previous leadership experience to hire train develop and keep key employees
- Ability to describe finance functions and how they align to organizational goals
- Can do attitude to support organizational goals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excel skills to include vlookups macros and other automated functionality
- Strategic goal-setting thinker to help guide the organization into the future
- The Controller will oversee three accountants and be responsible for all financial reporting of the Organizations multiple training locations and would report directly to the Organizations Executive Director. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 10 years experience be detailed oriented a good communicator and have extensive working knowledge with QuickBooks.
