Position Overview:

• The primary role of the kindergarten teacher is to foster early childhood development and learning through engaging play-based programs that cater to the individual needs of young learners.
• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that promote social emotional physical and cognitive growth ensuring a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
• Create a safe and inclusive space where children feel valued respected and encouraged to express themselves and explore their interests.
• Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources including hands-on activities storytelling and interactive play to engage children and support diverse learning styles.
• Assess and monitor student progress through observation and documentation providing constructive feedback to guide individual learning paths.
• Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support each childs development maintaining open communication about progress and milestones.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practices to enhance teaching skills and stay current with early childhood education trends.
• Foster a love of learning by incorporating songs games and creative activities that inspire curiosity and imagination.

General Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Education (Early Childhood Education) or a Bachelors degree in any subject with a Postgraduate in Early Childhood Education or equivalent which qualifies them to teach 3-5 years of age
• Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE)
• Newly qualified teachers or teaching experience within a recognised educational institute

IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not qualify for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau which is a crucial requirement for teaching at an ESF school.
