Vilas Transcore Limited is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Plant Head to take complete operational and technical charge of our CRGO (Cold Rolled Grain Oriented) Steel processing facility in Vadodara. This senior leadership role is crucial for maximizing performance across quality safety cost and output.

Job Summary

We require a seasoned and results-driven leader to manage the entire operations of our CRGO processing plant. The ideal candidate must possess deep technical knowledge of CRGO production processes and a proven track record in plant leadership. You will be responsible for driving efficiency maintaining international quality standards for magnetic properties and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

The Plant Head will have P&L accountability for the plant and direct all operational and strategic activities:

1. Operations & Production Management

• Lead and manage all core plant operations including cold rolling annealing decarburizing tension leveling coating and slitting.

• Ensure the achievement of stringent production targets by optimizing efficiency minimizing waste and maximizing yield and capacity utilization.

• Guarantee On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance to meet customer and sales requirements.

2. Quality Assurance & Improvement

• Ensure strict adherence to all internal and international quality standards including ISO 9001 and IEC 60404.

• Expertly monitor and continuously improve the critical magnetic properties (e.g. core loss permeability) of finished CRGO sheets.

• Systematically reduce non-conformances rework and customer complaints through root cause analysis and corrective actions.

3. Maintenance Safety and Reliability

• Oversee comprehensive preventive predictive and breakdown maintenance schedules for critical heavy equipment (rolling mills annealing lines furnaces etc.).

• Drive equipment reliability and implement strategies to drastically reduce unplanned downtimes.

• Ensure a safe compliant work environment promote a zero-incident culture and lead safety audits and emergency preparedness efforts.

4. Cost Control & Efficiency

• Manage and optimize all plant operating costs including raw material usage energy consumption and overheads.

• Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g. 5S Kaizen TPM) to drive sustained operational excellence.

5. People Leadership & Strategic Planning

• Lead train mentor and motivate cross-functional teams across production maintenance quality and logistics.

• Collaborate with the Managing Director on long-term capacity planning CAPEX projects and technological upgrades.

• Identify process improvements automation opportunities and emerging technologies to enhance competitive advantage.

6. Reporting & Compliance

• Generate accurate daily weekly and monthly performance reports and KPI dashboards for senior management.

• Ensure complete compliance with all statutory regulatory and environmental requirements.

Key Skills and Competencies

• Deep Technical Expertise: Profound hands-on knowledge of CRGO steel processing and metallurgy is mandatory.

• Leadership & Management: Strong track record in leading large diverse industrial teams and making high-stakes data-driven decisions.
