DescriptionTwo federally-funded longitudinal studies of the neuropsychological psychiatric and neurologic aspects of HIV infection in NYC are looking for a motivated person to fill a 4 day per week position as a clinical research coordinator (research psychometrist).
Responsibilities- Conduct standardized behavioral assessment protocols with HIV-infected and at risk study participants at the Mount Sinai Medical Center under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Administer a structured psychiatric interview psychology questionnaires and a neuropsychological test battery as well as scoring and entering results into a local database.
When patients are not being evaluated she/he will arrange patient visits perform telephone assessments and carry out other research and administrative duties of the protocol.
Accompany research participants to neuroimaging assessments to work with them as they are being scanned
He/she will also participate in a rotation for on call 24 hour Emergency Beeper (approximately 1 week out of 5). The on call involves responding to after-hours calls nd coordinating organ donations with families known to the study team with support from medical staff if necessary. This call does not involve leaving home or coming into the hospital and is managed by phone calls only.
Performs other related duties.
QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Science or closely related field. Pre-doctoral post-graduate course work in psychology a plus.
1-2 years of research experience
Experience working in a clinical setting.
Willing to make a commitment of at least 2 years.
Entry-level computer skills and general knowledge of MS Office (word processing Excel etc.) and experience with statistical programs a plus.
Pluses: Cognitive testing experience advanced computer skills knowledge of Spanish graduate courses in psychology psychometrics cognitive psychology and/or neuroscience.
