Academic Program Spec II
Bachelors degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The Student Engagement Specialist in collaboration with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs will work with a high degree of autonomy and independence to manage the student affairs operations and functions of their satellite campus. The primary duties include campus operations & management student development/co-curriculum student support & advising event management and development & community relations.
Campus Operations/Management
Works with the Associate Dean/Campus Director to establish campus-based workflows policies and procedures pertaining to student affairs which include record keeping back up course registration campus communication student organizations leadership development student conduct and other various program/curriculum specific requirements impacting students.
Oversees campus activities and events calendar
Identifies data statistical reports and program results to ensure effectiveness of impact on the college through ongoing evaluation of programs and practices.
Serves as a secondary liaison with faculty staff students and community members regarding college policies procedures and processes. Resolves or refers campus related concerns and complaints to the appropriate officials.
Supervises events/meetings for each term.
Responsible for ensuring all record-keeping and storage of student files comply with university state and federal regulations.
Manages the requests and approval process for usage of campus facilities by internal and external groups.
Student Development/Co-Curricular
Ensures all campus student activities and organizations are in compliance with university and other governing policies (anti-hazing sexual harassment equal opportunity disabilities etc.).
Serves as a primary liaison to all Gainesville student organizations. Provides leadership and mentor opportunities to student leadership groups.
Regularly evaluates and provides guidance/oversight to campus volunteer and leadership programs.
Establishes and manages communication systems (email meetings message boards public calendars e-learning etc.) that supports student organizations and campus activities
Serve as a co-advisor for one or more student organizations.
Develop programs for professional development of student leadership. Examples to include management of Board of Presidents meeting Pharmily Villages SOAR leadership workshops and training sessions that address character formation.
Provide guidance and oversight to the Gainesville student ambassador program.
Student Support & Advising
Serves as primary reporting official in compliance with state and federal laws (Cleary Act anti-hazing sexual harassment etc.)
Serves as primary campus designee for referral of student needing additional services
Act as primary contact for students with personal social and academic concerns to provide referral to appropriate resources
Provides developmental advising to students and student organizations (as needed)
Responsible for management of the Scholarship & Awards Committee and for formulating and recommending policies and procedures to effectively administer such programs.
Event Management
Responsible for ensuring all programs activities and series comply with university state and federal regulations (fiscal facilities usage risk management etc.)
Collaborate with the college events team for campus based special events and ceremonies Collaborates with the logistical support for campus-based events conferences and meetings including event set up marketing and communication pieces registration food and beverage and on-site services.
Reviews and edits various publications in support of events (invitations web based mobile guides webpages directional signage).
Collaborates across various campuses and college units to support or oversee College-wide events such as Professional Coating Ceremony and Spring Awards.
Career Development
Work with the Development Office to facilitate communication and interviewing opportunities for students and pharmacy companies
Designs and implements programs to support increased student self-sufficiency and creating and achieving career and educational plans

Progressively responsible experience in student development/activity programming at the community college college or university level.
Supervision experience.
Must have demonstrated skills in counseling/coaching career development effective oral and written communications interpersonal interaction supervision and management
Budget management experience
Experience with diverse and multi-campus populations.
Experience in academic advising in a higher education environment; experience with Salesforce Microsoft Teams SASS. UT and ISIS programs preferred.
Knowledge of methods of data collection and management systems.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Administrative experience preferably at the post-secondary level.
Experience in applying instructional technology.
Strong organizational time and project management skills and the ability to see a project through from conceptualization to completion.
Strong attention to detail and an ability to handle multiple tasks and to set priorities and deadlines under changing conditions as well as the ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility and ability to work with all levels of students staff faculty and visitors.
Enthusiasm energy problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in decentralized organizations.
Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends as needed to cover special events
