As theChief Risk Officer Asia Pacific you will have second line responsibility for the Asia Pacific regional risk management structure staffing strategy and policies ensuring a sound risk culture and monitoring the risk management activities in the regional domain to ensure high quality effective and efficient risk management practices and to safeguard a portfolio within risk parameters and risk budget per the DLL Regional Risk Appetite Statement.
This includes:
- Supporting the Asia Pacific Regional Management Team in its engagement with and oversight of the development of the DLLs risk appetite and for translating the risk appetite into a risk limit structure.
- Providing comprehensive and understandable information on risks and risk culture and advising the Asia Pacific Regional Management Team and its risk committee enabling it to understand the institutions overall risk profile.
- Managing and participating in key decision-making processes.
- Ensuring the Risk management function has sufficient authority stature and resources to ensure compliance with risk policies and the risk management framework and its staff has sufficient knowledge skills and experience and access to regular training.
- Overseeing the first line of responsibility activities performed by Flow Risk Management BPO C&R and CF Management. These activities are organized independently from Integrated Risk Management and Commercial function. Given their risk-based focus they are positioned in the CRO domain.
Your primary reporting line is into the Regional General Manager Asia Pacific responsible for the regions with a secondary reporting line to the CRO COO.

Day to day:
- Bring expert risk management knowledge into the Asia Pacific organization from a 2nd line of responsibility and ensure the local management takes owns and manages risks as a 1st line responsibility.
- Monitor the quality of the Asia Pacific portfolio on an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for integrated risk management in the Asia Pacific.
- Bring expert knowledge into the management on risk management topics and Asia Pacific risk appetite. Assure Asia Pacific management is challenged from a risk perspective on the risk strategy annual plan setting and risk appetite setting.
- Manage and liaise with all DLL parties including global risk departments internal stakeholders and external customers/ partners with respect to risk management matters and the representation of DLL Group.
- Develop improve and implement an integrated risk control framework an Asia Pacific risk appetite statement (RAS) procedures and processes risk and controls aligned within Asia Pacific risk organization requirements.
- Facilitate and challenge the Asia Pacific risk appetite statement (RAS) with appropriate risks and limits.
- Facilitate an effective and efficient findings and actions management process monitor successful implementation of resulting action plans and ensure quality control re operational risk incident reporting & finding and action management.
- Assess external developments (including regulatory) to identify emerging / non-financial and material risks and incorporate these into the Asia Pacific risk appetite and reporting accordingly.
- Train and coach Asia Pacific members on risk areasregarding new regulations as well as emerging- and integrated risk.
- Play an active and leading role in enhancing the regional risk organization and actively promote nurture and guard a sound risk culture with customer focus. Initiate and coordinate activities to improve risk awareness in the organization and change behavior.
- Responsible for aligning global policies standards and procedures with Asia Pacific requirements. Optimize and implement risk policies standards and procedures and tooling.
- Coordinate attain approval for and oversee implementation of Asia Pacific policy addendums/ waivers tools and systems on risk management.
- Managing and/or coaching the (performance and development) of the Asia Pacific Regional Risk team.
- Providing support to the Portfolio Optimization (P.O.) process for the Asia Pacific risk budget thatshould also be in line with the Risk Appetite Statement.
- Challenge Regional management regarding the identified risks in business activities in local or regional in control statement meetings.
- Monitor review and challenge the credit risk both at the point of granting credit and throughout the life cycle of a loan/lease.
- Conduct proper and timely oversight & strategic risk assessments and ensure overall regional coordination/ monitoring/ reporting on the regional RAS and other pertinent elements. Monitor the risk profile of the countries in the responsible region.
- Monitor oversee and manage the quality of the regional portfolios processes and activities.
- Provide expert judgement in the provisioning LGD review process
- Vice Chair the Regional Credit Committee and organize and Chair the Regional Risk Committee report extraordinary items to the Global Credit Committee or Global Risk Committee.
- Provide feedback to responsible senior management regarding the timeliness correctness and completeness of the risk and control activities.
- Monitor developments in the risk costs the dedicated countries and advise on and initiate mitigating actions.
Measures:
- Credit risk costs and NPLs (and development) within annual budget.
- Maintain quality of Operational risk Management by the organization of incident follow up proof of real changes setting up security that indeed all incidents are reported post-mortems and ensure that aggregate levels are within target / expected quality levels.
- Quality and timeliness of RAS maintenance and monitoring
- Compliant process and procedures with governance policies authorization levels and aligned with DLL framework.
- Quality and timeliness of alignment of relevant parties and stakeholders.
- Ensure the knowledge and skills requirements as outlined in the risk curriculum to ensure effective execution of jobs specific roles and responsibilities to all relevant members and according to set timelines.

Your profile:
- Masters degree academic level of thinking
- 15 years of relevant (risk management) experience in the financial services industry
- Expert with deep and broad knowledge of credit risk commercial lending/leasing in multiple countries and/or industry sectors.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Proven execution power
- Familiar with multi-cultural and international environment
- Excellent communication skills (speaking and writing) in English
