Someone who is energetic positive confident has respect for others with an empathetic manner and is keen to make a difference in the lives of our tangata. Ideally you will be confident delivering services in a tikanga-based environment have experience supporting homeless people and have a good understanding of culturally appropriate delivery of social services.

He kōrero mō te tūranga The Role

This role is pivotal in supporting our most vulnerable Maori tangata whaiora in the community to provide access to safe affordable accommodation and link them to community resources and will give you the opportunity to apply the housing first philosophy into key to this role is empowering people with skills and knowledge that will improve their chances of obtaining suitable accommodation maintaining their tenancies and achieving their long-term goals.

What you will need to have:

Ability to support and motivate our tangata to achieve their goals

Practical life skills and knowledge to connect people with community support resources and whānau/family/family of choice

Relevant qualification in Social Services and/or Mental Health and Addictions Support

Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and sound understanding of tikanga Māori

Ability to work a rotating roster

All applicants must have New Zealand Residency a full and clean drivers licence and a clean police record.
