Reporting Structure: Reports to the Surgery Manager
Summary:
WAKEFIELD is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling surgeries coordinating with medical staff and ensuring smooth operations in the surgery department.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgeries for patients coordinating with surgeons anesthesiologists and other medical staff
- Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and on time
- Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions and answer any questions
- Coordinate with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain authorizations
- Maintain accurate records of surgery schedules patient information and medical staff availability
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in computer systems and medical scheduling software
