Job Description

Introduction

Our client a leading Healthcare company based in Durban is looking for a Transplant Organ Procurement Coordinator.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure conversion of potential organ donors to actual organ donors to improve awareness regarding organ donation to medical staff doctors and the public as a whole.
  • The fundamental aim of the transplant coordinator/organ procurement officer is to procure organs for the purpose of transplantation.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • General registered nurse practitioner with current registration with SANC.
  • 2 5 years post registration experience in ICU.
  • Two years experience post registration.
  • Critical care/Trauma registration with experience in these areas is recommended.
  • Counselling ability including HIV counselling recommended.
  • BLS ACLS course recommended.
  • Critical care/Trauma with experience recommended.
  • BLS ACLS course recommended.
  • Valid drivers license and availability to travel at all hours.
  • Ability to work extended hours.
  • Ability to deal with a high stress level resulting from the emotionally and physically draining nature of the work.
  • Computer literacy and digital competence.
