- Technical Officer Grade 1/3 Salary from $75728 - $116969 per annum (FTE) plus super and leave loading
The salary offered to the successful candidate will be commensurate with qualifications skills and experience as outlined in the Crown Employees (Department of Industry) Technical Staff Award and the Technical Staff Merit Progression Guidelines.

About Tocal College
Tocal courses are renowned Australia-wide for providing students with practical training development of industry-relevant skills and experience in general agriculture beef cattle dairying rural business management sheep production cropping and conservation and land management.
Tocal College prides itself on offering the most current training available and so responds to industry changes as quickly as possible.
About the Role
As a Technical Officer for the Tocal Livestock Enterprise you will participate in daily operations and lead field activities of diverse farm enterprises including livestock and cropping. Youll be the crucial link between management and infield operations using best practice farming animal management and safe WHS practices.
The Tocal Livestock Enterprise spans 1600 hectares and is home to:
- 450 cows and calves
- 250 breeding ewes
- 115 Australian stock horses.
About You
As our ideal candidate you will have:
- Qualifications in accordance with Part 2 (xviii) of the Crown Employees (Department of Industry) Technical Staff Award.
- Extensive experience in livestock husbandry including managing animal health and welfare.
- Proven ability to plan and manage complex farm operations with a focus on livestock and pasture systems.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively guide contractors and farm staff in daily animal care routines.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise with researchers and partners on animal-related projects.
- Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.

To be considered for an appointment for over 12 months or ongoing applicants must be ongoing at either an equivalentor higher grade than this advertised vacancy (Technical Officer Grade 1/3 OR on a current and valid talent pool at this grade or higher.
