Job Description

We are a large academy in Birmingham committed to delivering outstanding education and supporting every student to reach their potential. Our staff are dedicated ambitious and passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people. We are now seeking a skilled and motivated Data Officer to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy analysis and effective use of data across the academy.

The Role

As our Data Officer you will be responsible for maintaining managing and developing the schools data systems. Working closely with senior leaders teachers and support staff you will ensure that reliable and timely information is available to support decision-making improve student outcomes and meet statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the academys Management Information System (MIS).
  • Collect validate and analyse student performance and attendance data.
  • Prepare reports for leadership governors and external stakeholders.
  • Support staff in the effective use of data systems and provide training where required.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and GDPR regulations.
  • Assist with statutory returns such as School Census and performance reports.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong IT skills with experience using MIS (e.g. SIMS Arbor or similar).
  • Can analyse and present data clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Is highly organised detail-oriented and able to work to deadlines.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ideally has experience working in an educational setting (desirable but not essential).

Actual Salary: 26659 to 29923
Working Hours: 37 hours per week - 41 weeks per year Term Time plus 10 Inset Days
