Summary:
Westminster City Council is seeking two experienced Environmental Health Officer to join the Environmental Health Consultation Team. The role focuses on a targeted project inspecting high-risk special treatment premises specifically those providing laser and IPL (Intense Pulse Light) treatments to ensure compliance with health and safety and hygiene regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out health and safety inspections of licensed premises offering laser and IPL treatments
- Assess compliance with hygiene standards machinery safety operational procedures and documentation
- Identify non-compliance and take proportionate enforcement action in line with council policies
- Provide professional advice and guidance to businesses to improve safety standards
- Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain evidence for enforcement proceedings
- Escalate risks appropriately and contribute to protecting public health
Qualification:
- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
Essentials:
- Proven experience in local authority health and safety enforcement
- Knowledge of massage and special treatment premises regulations
- Ability to work independently within the community
- Strong risk assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
