The Role:
As a HLTA you will be instrumental in organising and supporting teaching and learning activities for classes working under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher. This dynamic role involves:
Planning preparing and delivering specific learning activities to individuals small groups and/or whole classes adapting activities as necessary.
Assessing recording and reporting on student development progress and attainment.
Using teaching and learning objectives to plan evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans within agreed supervision systems.
Assessing pupil needs and utilising specialist skills to support their learning.
Supporting pupils social and emotional well-being.
Potentially providing specialist support for pupils with learning behavioural communication social sensory or physical difficulties or those with English as an additional language or gifted and talented pupils or within a specific learning area.
Opportunities to undertake short-term cover supervision of classes.
Liaising with staff relevant professionals and external agencies to provide information about pupils.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds GCSEs in English Maths and Science at grade C or above (or equivalent).
Has a Level 2 or 3 Diploma (or equivalent) and is working at or towards professional standards for HLTA.
Possesses successful relevant experience of working with children of relevant age within a learning environment.
Demonstrates developed skills for communicating with individuals groups and whole classes to promote learning.
Has a full working knowledge of relevant policies codes of practice legislation and experience implementing the national curriculum.
Understands child development and can apply effective behaviour management policies.
Has a strong understanding of child safeguarding issues and a commitment to child welfare and safety.
Is a willing learner a team player shows initiative and demonstrates commitment to the role.
