Oasis Academy Parkwood are looking for a career driven and aspiring teaching assistant to join their busy team. The role includes working alongside the teacher to support classroom activities. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and obtain a level 3 qualification.
Working week
Term time only
Monday - Friday during school hours (to be confirmed).
30 hours per week total.
Wage
8.55 per hour
Wage rises to National Minimum Wage after 12 months if over 19 years old.
Qualification
Teaching Assistant level 3
Duration 16 months
Training Provider: LMP Education
Duties and Responsibilities
Support for Pupils:
- Provide individual or small group support to pupils helping them to achieve their learning targets
- Foster positive relationships with students promoting engagement and motivation in learning activities
- Assist in the personal social and emotional development of children offering pastoral support where needed
- Help to manage behaviour in the classroom using positive reinforcement techniques and ensuring a safe respectful environment
Support for Teachers:
- Work collaboratively with teachers to prepare lesson materials and resources
- Assist with lesson delivery ensuring that students understand and follow instructions
- Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and any observed learning needs
- Supervise students during break times on school trips or in other activities as required
Support for the Curriculum:
- Deliver interventions and tailored learning support for pupils with additional learning needs including SEN (Special Educational Needs)
- Assist with literacy numeracy or other targeted curriculum areas under the teachers guidance
- Use technology and resources effectively to support learning
General Administrative Duties:
- Help maintain a tidy organised classroom environment
- Contribute to record-keeping including attendance assessments and observations
Key Skills and attributes
- Enthusiastic and have an interest in working with children
- A team player
- Reliable committed and punctual attitude
- Professional organised and attention to detail
- Previous experience of working with children desirable but not essential
- Confidence in your own ability to want to learn and develop
- All Apprenticeships require an Enhanced DBS check before the commencement of the role due to working with children
Education and Qualifications
Maths and English at GCSE level A-C (4-9) or functional skills equivalent.
