Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on a broad range of regulatory matters specific to the Australian market including licensing compliance and regulatory developments impacting the companys operations locally and across the APAC region.
- Draft review and submit regulatory filings strategic plans and responses to regulatory inquiries to Australian regulatory authorities such as ASIC AUSTRAC and other relevant bodies.
- Support the development and implementation of the companys long-term regulatory strategy in Australia ensuring alignment with global and regional compliance frameworks.
- Monitor and interpret changes in Australian laws and regulations related to financial services cryptocurrency fintech and related sectors to proactively advise business teams and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including compliance risk and business teams to embed regulatory best practices and mitigate legal risks.
- Manage and contribute to the APAC legal and compliance program with a focus on Australian regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on regulatory obligations and emerging legal issues in Australia.
Requirements
- Qualified and admitted to practice law in Australia.
- 5-8 years of post-qualification experience preferably with a strong focus on regulatory investigations or litigation experience within Australia.
- Strong analytical communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to provide clear practical legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
