Our client a leader in the manufacturing sector seeks a skilled and experienced Procurement Manager with a strong technical or engineering background. The ideal candidate will leverage their engineering expertise to drive procurement strategies that enhance production efficiency cost-effectiveness and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilties
- Developing long-term sourcing strategies that align with the ogranisations overall business objectives and contribute to its growth and success.
- Sourcing and building a strong strategic and key supplier base and partnerships through performance evaluations
- Managing supplier performance through sruveys analysis correctve action plans enforcing compliance with SLAs/contracts and making approriate decisions to terminate/renew contracts
- Negotiating prices and securing advantageous terms and conditions with suppliers and ensuring that such negotiations are properly contracted documented and filed accordingto company specifications
- Overseeing SRM strategy implementatikon to meet business and commercial needs of the organisation.
- Building long-term strategic partnerships through effective engagements and in line with stakeholder expectations
- Fostering a healthy culture through values-driven leadership and strategic stakeholders partnership
- Ensuring goods and services conform with procurement standards with non-compliance reported and resolved
- Identifying business risks and leading the management and control of the risks by analysing procurement processes identifying risk areas creating and implementingmitigation strategies
- Developing and ensuring the supplier sustainability program meets relevant requirements including but not limited to legal regulatory environmental people and performance standards to minimise risks while enhacing business performance.
- Providing leadership guidance training and coaching to the team to achieve business objectives
- Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long term savings on procurement costs
- Implementing procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance transparency and efficiency
- Developing and maintaining supplier performance metrics (cost delivery service quality innovation and sustainability) together with the sourcing team.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideal candiates must have:
- A University Degree in Supply Chain Management Engineering (Mechanical Industrial or Production) or related or Technical Qualification
- Certifications or advance training in procurement will be an added advantage
- Five or more years experience in leadership role with at least 3 years in the heavy manufacturing sector
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools
