Job Summary

Job Title: Mammography Technologist
Specialty: Mammography
Site: VA San Diego Healthcare System
Location: 3350 La Jolla Village Dr San Diego CA 92161
Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility of 4 years extension

Shift Schedule:

Between Sunday Saturday 07:30AM 6:00PM

40 hours/week

May include weekends/holidays

On-call with 30-minute report time as assigned

License /Certifications:

ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography (required)
State of California licenses in Radiography and Mammography (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)

Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

Minimum 2 years full-time recent experience (within last 3 years)
PACS experience

Responsibilities:

Perform screening and diagnostic mammography (incl. magnification views needle localizations)
Conduct daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual ACR-mandated QC and document performance
Set up suites and ensure sterile supplies/contrast readiness
Explain procedures position patients select/set technical factors
Send/post-process images in PACS
Maintain records in VistA/CPRS
Assist with contrast administration under radiologist supervision
Adhere to VA/JCAHO standards
Wear self-provided scrubs.
