Job Summary

Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer

Location: Mississauga ON
Job Type: Contract opportunity

Required Skills: Power BI DevOps (power shell or ITIL) Capital Markets/ Banking exp.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards tailored for capital markets and investment banking stakeholders (e.g. front office risk compliance).
Transform and model large datasets from multiple financial systems (e.g. trade data risk models pricing engines).
Use DAX and Power Query (M) to deliver optimized and high-performance reporting solutions.
Automate report generation data ingestion and deployment workflows using PowerShell.
Integrate Power BI development into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling.
Collaborate with traders risk analysts compliance teams and IT to gather business requirements.
Maintain a strong focus on data accuracy regulatory compliance and governance.
Troubleshoot and optimize performance issues in reporting and data delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:

5 years of experience in Power BI development with proven work in financial services or capital markets.
Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation file system management and deployment.
Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps Git or Jenkins.
Solid understanding of capital markets trade lifecycle financial instruments and risk concepts.
Proficiency in DAX Power Query and SQL (T-SQL preferred).
Experience working with large datasets from data warehouses data lakes or cloud-based sources.
Strong problem-solving communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-Have:

Experience with Azure Data Factory Synapse Analytics Databricks or other cloud data tools.
Familiarity with regulatory reporting or compliance workflows.
Microsoft Certifications: PL-300 (Power BI) AZ-400 (DevOps) or equivalent.
Background in investment banking technology or capital markets IT support.
