Job Description
POSITION: Deputy Research Director for U.S. House Campaigns
LOCATION: Washington DC
AB PAC a progressive research and communications organization dedicated to holding Republicans accountable for their words and actions is hiring a Deputy Research Director to join our U.S. House Campaigns research team for the 2026 cycle. This position is based in our Washington DC office.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Managing a team of researchers charged with producing opposition research products on Republican candidates in competitive House races including directing and editing their work products and implementing the research plan;
Overseeing the research teams collection of information from legislative votes news clips campaign finance reports financial and legal records and research databases;
Managing and performing rapid response research projects in key electoral races in coordination with the research director and communications team;
Assisting and training less experienced researchers;
Other duties as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
At least two cycles of opposition research experience including strong familiarity with LexisNexis FOIA and other common research tools required.
Experience with House races strongly preferred;
Solid proofreading and editing skills;
Management skills including delegation mentorship and a desire to teach;
Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines a must;
Strong news judgment and commitment to teamwork;
Enjoy working closely with others of diverse backgrounds and personalities.
