The House Supervisor provides administrative and nursing leadership for staff involved in the provision of patient care services 24/7 in the hospital and during operational hours in the clinic. The house supervisor provides administrative decision making and assists with coordination of patient flow patient placement staff allocation and other patient services through collaboration with administrative/supervisory staff physicians charge nurses and ancillary support staff across all departments. As the onsite administrative/nurse leadership representative the house supervisor provides direction and guidance for staff in interpretation/application of policies and procedures problem solving utilization and assignment of nursing resources response to patient/family complaints/concerns and initiation of emergency preparedness plans for any presenting emergency situations. The House Supervisor assists with patient care in all nursing units as requested.
Graduate of a nursing program. All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date. All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.
Supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred. Five Years clinical experience preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to work flexible hours which may include days evenings nights holidays and weekends and on-call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership effective communicator and excellent critical thinking RN license by applicable state requirements. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
