The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of accountants and oversight of general accounting operations. This position ensures the accurate and timely processing of all journal entries and manages month-end close activities account reconciliations and may assist with financial review and variance analysis. The Accounting Manager will adhere to established policies and procedures to maintain the integrity of the general ledger and financial reporting.

As aAccounting Manager:

  • Partner and manage month-end close processes including reviewing and approving journal entries monitoring subsystem close timelines resolving issues and overseeing financial data interfaces into the general ledger system.
  • Coordinate workflow to ensure timely and accurate entries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as payroll accounts payable and clinical to establish accounting structures procedures and reporting for new entities.
  • Work with other finance members to streamline intercompany processes and ensure proper accounting for intercompany transactions.
  • Partner with various departments to improve processes and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Oversee the timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts review staff-prepared reconciliations and ensure prompt resolution of outstanding items and variances.
  • Review monthly variance analyses follow up with stakeholders and address discrepancies.
  • Evaluate accounting processes for efficiency recommend improvements and implement changes.
  • Standardize and document general accounting policies procedures and controls.
  • Ensure accounting practices are in compliance with current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Lead and manage special projects as assigned.
  • Provide mentorship guidance and training to staff.
  • Maintain compliance with all organizational safety and operational procedures.

The Accounting Manager will have the following:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting required.
  • 4 or more years of experience in a Senior or Managerial level role in a hospital setting.
  • Great Plains /GP Dynamics experience is preferred.
  • Experience with month-end close financial statements reimbursement cost reports and revenue cycle.
  • Microsoft Office (experience with Excel spreadsheets data entry and data analysis techniques).
  • Strong analytical skills solid organizational communication and interpersonal skills. A highly disciplined approach to executing job responsibilities.
