Role Detail
The Global Business Acceptance Team sits at the intersection of legal risk compliance and strategic client management. As a Junior Analyst you will support the Firm to onboard new business efficiently and in accordance with all relevant legal regulatory ethical commercial strategic and reputational considerations.
Covering the analysis and identification of professional conduct duties (conflicts confidentiality) commercial conflicts/client alignment strategic and reputational risks when accepting new clients and matters success in the role depends on a mix of legal analysis commercial awareness risk management and communication skills.
Reporting to the Business Acceptance Manager key responsibilities in this junior role will include:
- Analysing new client and/or new matters to determine risks and legal or commercial conflict.
- Assisting with the review of new business conflicts requests.
- Applying strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and understand policy and applying it to real-life scenarios.
- Bringing excellent verbal and written communication skills articulating conflicts assessment findings analysis and solutions requirements effectively.
- Conducting conflict checks / Analysing conflict search results using firms conflict database by analysing and interpreting varied data to compile information into effective recommendations for stakeholders.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and Partners.
- Escalating conflict issues to the Head of Conflicts with clear analysis and recommendations.
- Screening matters and clients for sanctions and escalating any adverse findings.
About You
Drawing on our principles of betterment quality and clarity we are looking for those with exceptional analytical capabilities and an eagerness to learn and develop in the role. These roles suit an agile mindset; proactive approach and a confidence that comes from a curious and questioning mindset. With a customer centric approach you will also need:
- A couple of years post grad experience with an ability to analyse complex conflict reports and identify potential ethical or commercial conflicts.
- Understanding how to balance risk appetite commercial considerations and reputational factors in decision-making.
- A detail-oriented mindset focused on delivering accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work autonomously and learn independently with ongoing guidance and training
- Ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders.
- Capacity to multi-task and a flexible proactive attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to exhibit sound judgement.
- Law degree strongly preferred however you dont necessarily need to be a practicing lawyer but understanding conflicts of interest confidentiality fiduciary duties and legal ethics is key; Alternatively a background in legal studies business or compliance with experience in professional services (e.g. Big 4 consulting) can work if paired with strong analytical and regulatory acumen.
