Job Description
- Greet and direct patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner
- Schedule and manage appointments using our clinical systems
- Respond to patient and external agency queries offering accurate information or directing them to the appropriate team member
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence including letters forms and specimen containers
- Provide clear guidance on practice procedures
- Accurately maintain patient records including data entry filing scanning and photocopying
About the Candidate
General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience offers excellent communication skills and has the following attributes:
The ideal candidate will be:
- A highly motivated team player with previous experience in customer service or patient-facing roles
- An excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
- Professional polite and respectfulable to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
- Compassionate and empathetic particularly when dealing with patients in distress or difficult situations
- Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team supporting colleagues as needed
- Proficient with IT systems and administration with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable (but not essential):
Previous experience in a medical or healthcare receptionist role
Additional requirements:
- Some flexibility is required to occasionally cover additional or alternative hours when colleagues are absent
- Applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance of the practice
