Technical Lead

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer / Technical Lead to lead the development of scalable high-performance backend systems that support critical airline operations and customer-facing applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in technical leadership enjoys mentoring teams and is passionate about building reliable cost-efficient systems using modern backend technologies. While the primary focus of this role is backend engineering and technical leadership experience or familiarity with AI/ML concepts and data engineering practices is a plus. You may occasionally collaborate with data teams to support intelligent features and data-driven systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design development and deployment of backend services and APIs.
• Drive technical architecture design reviews and engineering best practices.
• Manage and mentor a team of backend engineers ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product infrastructure and business stakeholders.
• Ensure systems are optimized for scalability performance and cost-efficiency.
• Define and track technical KPIs including system uptime latency and resource utilization.
• Evaluate and adopt appropriate streaming technologies and orchestration tools to support real-time and batch processing needs.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7 years of backend development experience using Python Java JavaScript or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture API design and microservices.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL) and data modeling.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage project delivery.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms especially AWS and GCP.
• Familiarity with streaming platforms (e.g. Apache Kafka Google Pub/Sub) and workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Apache Airflow Prefect).
• Experience with performance monitoring benchmarking and cost optimization.

Good to have :

• Prior experience in the airline travel or transportation domain.
• Exposure to observability tools (e.g. Prometheus Grafana Datadog).
• Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
