Description

Do you love art and want to use your creativity to make a difference Helping Hand is looking for an Art Coordinator to bring inspiration organization and heart to our Adult Services this role youll guide individuals of all abilities to explore their creativity while coordinating art classes projects and exhibitions that showcase their talents.


SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • On-site position Monday - Friday.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Some flexibility in schedule required to support agency/client needs.
  • Salary range $49000 - $52000 (salary/exempt).
  • Salary based on experience.
  • Up to 6% annual bonus potential.
  • 403b retirement plan with up to a 4% company match

WHAT YOULL DO:

  • Plan and lead engaging art classes in a variety of mediums (painting ceramics photography etc.).
  • Coordinate art projects events and exhibitions. From scheduling and budgets to creative direction.
  • Support and inspire clients to express themselves and achieve their artistic goals.
  • Collaborate with team members vendors and the community to bring projects to life.
  • Keep the art room stocked organized and running smoothly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in fine arts art education or related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years work experience in visual arts including painting drawing ceramics photography sewing etc.
  • Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (preferred).
  • Proven experience in art coordination project management or previous teaching experience in formal or informal educational settings.

Skill Sets:

  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record and ongoing motor vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to utilize the pottery wheel glazing and firing of ceramics (preferred).
  • Ability to fulfill all necessary training requirements of the agency including but not limited to crisis management (crisis management training includes de-escalation strategies and physical management techniques) and DSP training within 90 days of hire if applicable.
  • Proficient and comfortable with technology such as Microsoft Office Teams Zoom etc.
  • Strong artistic skills and proficiency in various art mediums and techniques.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate clients to achieve their artistic goals.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize multiple priorities as required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to self-transport to work and site visits. Safely drive individuals for various programming purposes.
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The person in this position may encounter clients exhibiting physical aggression; must be comfortable working in periods of crisis and feel comfortable de-escalating individually or as a team.
  • Noise level may vary.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the entire team to ensure safe and efficient delivery of services while utilizing strong conflict management and team building skills.
  • Must be able to follow Helping Hand procedures during emergency situations and provide safety and security of individuals along with Helping Hand property.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to assist with clients access file cabinets office machinery etc.
  • The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Consistently position self to maintain files in cabinets or assist clients or other team members.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations.
