Job Summary

ROLE SUMMARY
Vaccines is the only place in Pfizer where you can contribute to patients in a way like no other you can prevent sickness and disease. The mission of the Vice President US Pediatric/Maternal Vaccines Lead is to protect children of all ages by driving the adoption of and access to Pfizers portfolio of life-saving vaccines. The Pediatric/Maternal Lead has responsibility and accountability for commercial strategy executionand overall product performance including P&L ownership of a portfolio of 5 vaccines with nearly $3B in annual revenue. The portfolio includes Prevnar20 pediatric the flagship vaccine within Pfizer Vaccines - as well Abrysvo Maternal Pfizers Meningococcal vaccines Trumenba and Penbraya - and Comirnaty/COVID-19 for the <12 year-old population. The Pediatric/Maternal lead is responsible for balancing the priorities across the portfolio ensuring strategy focus execution and resourcing to compete across a number of highly competitive markets while navigating the external environment.

The US Pediatric/Maternal Vaccine Lead is a leader of leaders with 5 Senior Director/TL direct reports and leadership of a broader team of 20 marketing colleagues. Additionally The US Pediatric/Maternal Vaccine lead will be a member of the US Vaccines Business Leadership Team helping to drive strong culture within the Vaccines team and will report to the US President Vaccines Franchise Lead.

The US Pediatric/Maternal Vaccine lead is responsible for development and execution of HCP marketing strategy organized customer and access pull-through CFC execution contracting and an aligned consumer strategy with the Vaccines Consumer addition the Lead will need to work closely with the Adult Vaccine franchise leads to align strategies and ensure synergies across the Prevnar Abrysvo and Comirnaty franchises. Given the criticality of the public sector of business the Pediatric/Maternal lead will partner closely with key internal (Public marketing team National Accounts team Sales/Accounts) and external stakeholders to help ensure a deep understanding of the Vaccines for Children program. Additionally the Lead will be accountable for shaping the ecosystem with other critical stakeholders including large employers scientific and medical societies and US Government agencies to build confidence in Pfizers portfolio of Pediatric and Maternal vaccines devise strategies to address healthcare disparities and promote equity and support clinical practice and recommendations.


The US Pediatric/Maternal Vaccines Lead will be expected to lead decision making for direct and cross functional teams and collaborate seamlessly with global marketing CMO digital medical regulatory PGS and an extensive network of additional cross functional partners. Finally the US Pediatric/Maternal lead will work closely with CSI on the advancement of Pfizers pipeline of pediatric/maternal vaccines including next-generation pneumococcal vaccines and GBS (Group B Strep).


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop/evolve product strategies to maximize commercial success and profitability of the Pediatric and Maternal portfolio of vaccines including accurate product forecasting messaging competitor defense and scenario planning
  • Develop collaborative relationships with Sales Retail and IDN/Accounts Leads to ensure aligned and integrated customer facing strategy and execution for the pediatric and maternal portfolio across HCP IDN KOL and other external stakeholder audiences including fostering strong relationships with key customers
  • Responsible for strategic leadership for the brand(s) and all aspects of marketing strategy and implementation within the business including close collaboration with CMO for data insights and performance metrics
  • Work with Global Marketing team to ensure strategic connectivity and partnership
  • Responsible for driving financial results of the Pediatric and Maternal portfolio to maximize profitability and manage budgets ensuring adherence to Pfizer policies/governance related to spending and accounting practices
  • Fosters and maintains a clear vision and high- performance culture that identifies and develops top talent and fosters an environment where diversity inclusion innovation and creativity is encouraged and expected
  • Build strong leaders teams and capabilities to win in the marketplace
  • As appropriate participate in and lead aspects of business development activities
  • Represent Pfizer at professional conferences symposia professional public events
  • Is recognized as internal and external ambassador for Pediatric and Maternal immunization including engagement with key stakeholders (i.e. CDC)
  • Pilot in Command for ATCs/Brand Acceleration teams for both Prevnar Pediatric and Abrysvo Maternal


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree and 15 years of experience
  • 10-15 years of related marketing experience in Pharmaceutical industry with a consistent track record of high performance
  • Track record of exceptional leadership with an ability to set a vision lead bold pioneering initiatives lead change and develop colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive develop and implement commercial strategies convert these into tactical marketing plans and deliver results
  • Sound decision making capabilities and the ability to take decision in the absence of consensus when necessary
  • Strong executive presence and capability to confidently represent the business with Senior Pfizer management and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
  • Track record of achievement in delivering large complex projects ability to meet tight deadlines and influencing business outcomes
  • Solid business acumen and knowledge of pharmaceutical market environment (e.g. Healthcare policy financing reimbursement and delivery)
  • Excellent prioritization effective and efficient resource management and organizational skills
  • Excellent cross functional/matrix leadership experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience marketing vaccines
  • Prior experience engaging and developing strong relationships with key opinion leaders customers and potential or existing business partners
  • Demonstrated success working in/with the US customer facing organizations

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $256100.00 to $426800.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
