Job Summary
Krolls Portfolio Valuation practice is the leading provider of valuation advisory services to the alternative investment industry and we boast a prestigious clientele of the worlds leading alternative asset managers. Operating on a truly global scale we specialize in valuing illiquid and difficult to value investments where no active quotes are available. Our expertise covers a broad spectrum of alternative asset strategies including private equity hedge credit venture capital and infrastructure.
This position will be hybrid from our Toronto office.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Develop financial models for discounted cash flow market multiple market transaction and option pricing analyses
- Conduct valuation analysis on a diverse range of illiquid investments distributed across industries and geographies employing established and relevant approaches and theory
- Be proactive and self-motivated capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and delivering actionable results within tight deadlines
- Manage teams of senior associates and analysts
- Conduct client Interviews including face-to-face meetings to gather essential data and information for engagements
- Collaborate with internal and external management teams to cultivate and strengthen client relationships
- Identify and communicate potential engagements to management andleading the engagement proposal process
- Present analyses and conclusions verbally and in written reports
- Participate in relevant industry events to expand knowledge and gain experience within the alternative asset industry
Essential traits:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance Accounting or Economics or MBA
- Minimum 3 years of developing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including: DCF comparable company commodity contracts / forecasts and contingent claims analysis
- Proficient in data analysis and business intelligence techniques
- Experience in managing diverse engagement teams and clients
- Working knowledge of authoritative guidance related to valuation (AICPA Guide ASC 820 and IFRS 13) valuation industry best practices and emerging issues
- Familiarity with software packages like Alteryx Tableau MS Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of market data sources such as Bloomberg and S&P Capital IQ
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on representing diverse communities
