This role is located at our client site in either Pittsburgh PA Phoenix AZ Cleveland OH Birmingham AL Dallas TX.
CGI is seeking a Release Manager thatwill play a pivotal role in orchestrating the end-to-end release lifecycle of mission-critical banking applications and platforms. This role ensures the seamless integration deployment and monitoring of software releases across complex environments with a strong focus on stability compliance and performance.
As part of the Technology Delivery team the Release Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development QA Infrastructure DevOps and Business stakeholders to manage release schedules mitigate risks and uphold the clients standards for operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Release Planning & Coordination:
.Own and manage the release calendar across multiple applications and platforms.
.Coordinate release activities across development QA infrastructure and business teams.
.Ensure alignment with enterprise change management and compliance frameworks.
Technical Oversight:
.Provide expert-level guidance on middleware technologies including Apache WebSphere and Tomcat.
.Review and validate configuration files and deployment artifacts for accuracy and security.
.Analyze application flows across Akamai load balancers databases and other infrastructure layers.
Automation & DevOps Integration:
.Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Ansible.
.Drive CI/CD pipeline enhancements and ensure integration with enterprise DevOps tooling.
.Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve deployment automation and rollback strategies.
Monitoring & Observability:
.Leverage tools such as Dynatrace Logscale and Splunk to monitor release health and performance.
.Establish proactive alerting and diagnostics for post-release validation.
.Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for release-related incidents.
Governance & Compliance:
.Ensure all releases adhere to internal audit risk and regulatory requirements.
.Maintain release documentation including runbooks change records and rollback plans.
.Participate in release readiness reviews and post-implementation assessments.
Continuous Improvement:
.Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the release process and propose solutions.
.Foster a culture of collaboration transparency and accountability across teams.
.Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to release management.
.Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen
.Strong understanding of middleware technologies like Apache WebSphere and Tomcat. Candidate will be assessed on their knowledge of various configuration files and their purpose.
.Experience working on any Infrastructure as Code(IAC) tools. Ansible is a plus.
.Ability to understand and analyze users flow for applications through various platforms like Akamai load balancer Database etc.
.Proficiency on monitoring tools like Dynatrace Logscale Splunk.
.Good understanding of Software Development and release management life cycle.
.Banking and Financial services Domain experience is preferred.
.Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline and DevOps methodology.
.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage influence and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
.High degree of organization individual initiative and personal accountability
.Bachelors degree or more.
.Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88200.00 - $173500.00.
