We are seeking a talented individual to join our Legal Compliance & Public Affairs (LCPA) team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working as per respective teams arrangement.

We will count on you to:

  • Advise on legal regulatory and business risks related to the Marsh & Mercer Asia business spanning among others corporate and commercial issues business structures and models insurance and reinsurance and consulting matters
  • Advise on review draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contractual arrangements with clients vendors and other third parties across the region including global and regional master services agreements and other ancillary legal documentation as appropriate
  • Collaborate with in-country and subject matter expert LCPA colleagues to (i) anticipate identify and address local legal and regulatory issues and develop legal strategies and solutions; and (ii) analyse a broad range of laws and regulations affecting the operations of the business including those arising from corporate structures and business models and technology-related contracts
  • Collaborate with other members of LCPA teams globally to create update and maintain template agreements and implement process developments
  • Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge for compliance with relevant policies and legislation
  • Provide training on commercial/contracting matters
  • Support the wider LCPA team with internal projects and various commercial matters
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
  • Above all exercise sound judgment

What you need to have:

  • 5 - 8 years PQE (qualified as a solicitor in Singapore Malaysia or an equivalent common law jurisdiction) ideally in corporate commercial or technology media and telecommunications (TMT) law
  • Relevant experience at a law firm or in-house at a multi-national corporation (preferably a professional services or financial services organization) with a focus on commercial contracting and processes across regions
  • Corporate commercial or TMT lawyer with strong technical and project management skills
  • Effectively able to prioritise work by understanding competing demands and making appropriate judgments regarding relative importance
  • Able to take initiative is proactive and confidently able to take ownership of matters and develop self
