Job Description
The Opportunity
The Department of Finance and Dr. Phillips School of Real Estate in the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 9-month tenured or tenure-earning assistant professor or associate professor. The position is located on the main UCF Orlando campus with an anticipated start date in Fall 2025. The normal teaching load for a tenured or tenure-earning faculty is two courses per semester during the academic year.
The Department of Finance which includes the Dr. P. Phillips School of Real Estate has 20 full-time faculty members including 16 tenured and tenure-track addition to the Finance Ph.D. program the department offers a Professional Master of Real Estate (P.M.R.E.) degree and undergraduate degrees in finance and real estate. The departments Masters in FinTech degree program was launched in Fall 2022.
With some 8500 undergraduate and 1000 graduate students enrolled the UCF College of Business Administration is one of the largest AACSB-accredited business colleges in the nation. The college offers part-time executive and professional MBA programs as well as masters degrees in accounting management real estate taxation and sports business management. The college also offers a Ph.D. in business administration with tracks in accounting finance management and marketing. Orlando is one of the nations most dynamic diverse and rapidly growing metropolitan areas. Orlando is well positioned near the Space Coast in the center of the high-tech Interstate 4 (I-4) corridor that extends from Tampa through Orlando to Daytona Beach.
Minimum Qualifications for Assistant Professor:
At the time of appointment Ph.D. in Finance or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution.
A record or evidence of progress toward high-quality academic research publication related to finance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of expertise in the application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning in FinTech-related academic research.
Minimum Qualifications for Associate Professor:
At the time of appointment Ph.D. in Finance or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution.
An established record of high-quality academic research publications related to finance.
To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor upon hire the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching research and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of expertise in the application of Artificial Intelligence Machine learning in FinTech-related academic research.
