Job Description
Responsible for the administration of Veterans Administration educational benefit programs at Minnesota State University Mankato. Assist students and the public with questions and concerns regarding eligibility and certification of benefits. The incumbent serves as Veterans School Certifying Official certifying Veterans School Certifying Official certifying veterans and eligible persons adhering to rules regulations and guidelines as determined by the University the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the State Approving Agency.
Minimum Qualifications
Explain laws rules regulations standards policies and procedures to clients coworkers and customers.
Convey complicated information in an understandable manner as a resource for outside agencies for clients coworkers and customers.
Learn to use chat communication tools to communicate with clients coworkers and customers effectively and promptly in real time.
Knowledge of standard computer software programs for word processing spreadsheets and databases sufficient to create modify and protect files.
Document and records management sufficient to accurately file and categorize electronic documents.
Preferred Qualification
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Knowledge of and experience in certifying veterans educational benefits
Knowledge of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs printed regulations
Knowledge of veterans legislation and resources related to higher education

Work safely at all times which includes but is not limited to participating and completing all required safety trainings as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools equipment and personal protective equipment.
The Minnesota State University Mankato Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available for your review.
