Fords Electric Vehicle Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with defining the technology vision within Ford and driving the future of digital technologies and design. EVDD is customer-obsessed entrepreneurial and data-driven. Youll join an agile team of doers pioneering our future by working collaboratively staying focused on what matters and delivering excellence day in and day out.
In this position
EVDDs Strategy & Operations team is seeking a highly strategic and dynamic Strategy Director to lead the development and execution of our multi-year strategic this pivotal role you will be instrumental in defining the strategic vision capability roadmaps and investment priorities that will underpin EVDDs success. You will work cross-functionally to translate complex ideas into actionable strategies ensuring alignment across all levels of the organization from daily operations to Board of Directors messaging. This role demands not only strategic acumen but also the ability to build critical bridges between strategy development and operational execution driving impactful change and innovation across the automotive landscape.
Responsibilities
What youll do
- Develop and continuously evolve the multi-year strategy framework for EVDD ensuring it anticipates market trends technological advancements and business objectives.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering product development research and other key stakeholders to synthesize diverse perspectives and develop a cohesive EVDD-wide technology vision and strategy.
- Define critical capabilities establish roadmap requirements and identify investment priorities that will enable EVDD to achieve its strategic goals and maintain a competitive edge.
- Partner closely with the strategic operations lead to ensure annual objectives are clearly linked to the overarching EVDD strategy fostering seamless integration and accountability.
- Collaborate with finance corporate planning (CP) and business operations teams to ensure that investments budget allocations and resourcing decisions are fully aligned with the defined strategy.
- Lead the development of compelling and concise strategic messaging for senior executive leadership and the Board of Directors effectively communicating EVDDs vision progress and future direction.
- Drive cross-functional strategic projects such as AI investment initiatives from conception through to implementation.
- A key measure of success will be not only the development of robust strategies but also the ability to build and maintain the necessary bridges to execute and monitor these strategies through ongoing operational processes and performance metrics.
Qualifications
Youll have
- Bachelors degree in Business Engineering or a related field
- 12 years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing strategies in complex fast-paced environments
- Proven ability to work effectively across diverse functional teams influencing stakeholders at all levels without direct authority
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to synthesize complex topics into clear concise and impactful messaging for senior executive audiences
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data identify key insights translate insights into actionable initiatives and make data-driven strategic recommendations
- Extensive experience leading and managing complex cross-functional strategic projects from initiation to successful completion
- Demonstrated expertise in framing ambiguous and complex problems developing structured approaches and driving teams towards actionable solutions
- A strong bias for action and willingness to take smart risks
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams
Even better you may have
- Masters degree (MBA or equivalent) is strongly preferred
- Experience in a top-tier management consulting firm or comparable strategic roles within a large complex organization
- Prior experience in the automotive industry particularly within electric vehicle development autonomous driving or related advanced technology sectors
