Position Title: Project Engineer
Location: Chicago IL. Requires 50% travel to plants in Michigan Indiana and Wisconsin.
Salary: $104874
I. Job Duties:
- Independently troubleshoot extensive equipment electrical and mechanical problems
- Independently execute projects based on electrical/mechanical drawings.
- Construct Project BOM (Bill of Materials) needed for the project.
- Coordinate outside vendors to ensure the project work stays within the project guidelines.
- Perform and/or oversee electrical and mechanical updates/upgrades of existing equipment and the company infrastructure.
- Propose and prepper electrical/mechanical updates/upgrades to existing equipment and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope objectives and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans schedules and budgets to ensure successful project
Execution.
- Coordinate resources including personnel equipment and materials to support project activities.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential obstacles and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage project timelines and milestones tracking progress and addressing any deviations from the plan.
- Monitor project expenses and expenditures ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Communicate regularly with project team members and stakeholders to provide updates on project status issues and resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements building codes and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead or participate in project meetings including kick-off meetings progress reviews and mpost-project evaluations.
- Oversee the commissioning and testing of new equipment and systems coordinating with vendors and contractors as needed.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project team members helping to overcome technical challenges and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Document project activities outcomes and lessons learned for future reference and continuous improvement.
II. Education Required:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical manufacturing electrical or industrial engineering.
III. Experience Required:
- 3 years of experience in project management and engineering roles working with production manufacturing and machinery.
IV. Special Skills Required:
- Experience with electrical and pneumatic power and controls control logic relays solenoids sensors limit switches transducers and any other control devices and circuits between 480vac 220vac 110vac and 24vdc.
- Experience initiating and managing Mechanical Engineering projects including collaborating with other Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources.
- Experience with the following Machinery Tools and Equipment:
o Mixers blenders.
o Extruders machine.
o Packing machine.
o Belt and roller conveyors.
o Loading and unloading product machine.
