Responsibilities
- Overseeing the financial and accounting system.
- Manages daily operations of the accounting department.
- Design establish and maintain an organizational structure and staffing.
- Reconcile the companys bank accounts on a daily basis.
- Preparing monthly budgets and financial statements.
- Forecasting financial goals for each quarter to maintain the dealerships profitability.
- Processing all insurance claims and liability insurance.
- Reviewing all financial statements and ledgers and collaborating with the accounting staff to resolve any discrepancies.
- Preparing all taxes and filing forms with the relevant government authorities.
- Meeting with the department managers regularly to go over business matters and develop plans to increase profitability.
- Cross-trained in all accounting positions.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of previous experience as an Automotive Controller is preferred.
- Controllers should have strong communication customer service leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical ability.
- A high school diploma is necessary; a college or advanced degree is preferred.
- Must have a valid drivers license and travel as necessary.
