Job Summary
Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a northern NJ wholesale food distribution firm who is seeking a Senior Consultant (Controller) to join their team.
This is a hands-on project-based opportunity with a company recently acquired by a private equity firm. The organization is in the midst of preparing for its first audit and urgently needs an experienced Controller to help bring structure and rigor to its accounting operations.

Role Highlights:
- Location: On-Site Edison NJ. Preferred but remote work possible provided with willingness to be onsite to start and return for a few days each month during close and as needed.
- Duration: 23 months with possibility of extension.
- Pay: $75$90/hr.
- Reports to CFO.
- Lead clean-up of balance sheet accounts and bank reconciliations.
- Work with current Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant to document and formalize processes and procedures.
- Transition accounting from cash-based to accrual-based.
- Stand up reporting processes validate data and populate reporting templates provided by the PE firm and sister portfolio companies.
- Prepare for the companys first audit early in 2026.
- Collaborate with staff to understand historical and current practices.
- Direct work of another interim Sr Accountant in this effort.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Extensive experience as a Controller or Senior Consultant in a private equity environment.
- Strong background in process improvement audit preparation and reporting.
- Experience with Sage ERP products (Sage 100 Intacct X3 etc.) strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and drive change in a fast-paced evolving environment.
- Local to northern NJ preferred but remote work possible provided with willingness to be onsite to start and return for a few days each month during close and as needed.
