Project Coordinator - Government & Public Sector Real Estate
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Project Coordinator to join our Government & Public Sector team supporting complex real estate and infrastructure projects across various government agencies. This role combines project management excellence with deep sector knowledge to deliver exceptional outcomes for our public sector clients.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Coordination
- Project Planning & Execution: Lead end-to-end coordination of government real estate projects ensuring alignment with public sector timelines budget constraints and regulatory requirements
- Stakeholder Management: Facilitate seamless coordination between internal teams government agencies contractors consultants and community stakeholders
- Meeting Management: Schedule organize and facilitate project meetings site visits regulatory inspections and public consultations
- Timeline Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules track deliverables and proactively identify potential delays or risks
Documentation & Reporting
- Project Documentation: Maintain detailed project files compliance records and audit trails in accordance with government documentation standards
- Status Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular project status reports executive summaries and progress presentations to internal leadership and government clients
- Compliance Tracking: Monitor adherence to government regulations environmental requirements accessibility standards and procurement guidelines
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet government quality standards and contract specifications
Client Relationship Management
- Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the dedicated liaison for government clients addressing inquiries and maintaining strong professional relationships
- Communication Management: Facilitate clear transparent communication between all project parties while maintaining confidentiality requirements
- Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve project challenges in coordination with senior team members
- Client Satisfaction: Support initiatives to exceed client expectations and foster long-term partnerships
Analysis & Strategic Support
- Data Analysis: Conduct market research feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to support project decision-making
- Policy Interpretation: Analyze and interpret government policies zoning regulations and compliance requirements affecting project outcomes
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with senior team members
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve project efficiency and client satisfaction
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors or masters degree in engineering Architecture Real Estate Urban Planning Public Administration MBA or related field
- 2-5 years of professional experience working with government sectors public agencies or government contractors
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination or management within the real estate construction or consulting industries is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Project)
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of development regulations zoning laws environmental compliance and government procurement processes
- Documentation Systems: Experience with project management software document management systems and government reporting platforms
Core Competencies
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences including government officials
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and multitasking capabilities in fast-paced environments
- Interpersonal Skills: Professional demeanor with ability to build rapport with government officials and diverse stakeholder groups
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in Project Management (PMP CAPM) or Real Estate (CCIM SIOR)
- Experience with government contracting public-private partnerships (P3) or municipal real estate transactions
- Knowledge of environmental regulations (NEPA CEQA) accessibility standards (ADA) and sustainability requirements (LEED)
- Familiarity with GIS software AutoCAD or other technical planning tools
- Previous experience working with federal state or local government agencies
