JOB GOAL:To develop in each student insight and understanding of health maintenance and wellness so that they may derive both intellectual and practical benefits in the field of health promotion and disease prevention.; and to educate students in accordance with the Massachusetts standards of education. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: currency in the curriculum. a working knowledge of the core curriculum in Health curriculum around essential questions in Health that provide opportunities for reasoning logic analysis and synthesis when planning units lessons and current in the field of Health and applies knowledge to the instructional to the ongoing evaluation of the effective planning and assessment of curriculum and plans instruction and assessment in Health and monitors students understanding of the curriculum. instruction materials or assessments when appropriate. the classroom environment and creates an atmosphere that is positive for student learning and involvement in Health and maintains standards of student conduct needed to provide an orderly safe and productive environment in an activity-type classroom with many potential instruction in Health effectively. teacher makes learning goals of Health clear to students and uses instructional techniques appropriate for Health a variety of teaching strategies including cooperative peer and project-based learning; audio-visual presentations lecture discussions and inquiry practice and application; and the teaching of teacher uses questioning techniques appropriate to the field of teacher demonstrates industrial materials equipment tools and processes using standard or teacher-prepared models mock-ups sketches and other instructional and communicates high standards and expectations in Health for student equity and appreciation of diversity and strives to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning. teacher demonstrates an appreciation for and sensitivity to the diversity among all professional in interactions with parents and receptive to their responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of his/her grade/team/department building and school reflection on teaching and education and embraces the concept of continuous other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Principal and/or Wellness Content Coordinator.
