What Youll Be Doing

  • Assists the Center Director with daily site operations ensuring compliance with licensing Title 5/22 regulations ensuring high-quality Early Head Start/Head Start Childhood program in alignment with agency and NAEYC standards.
  • In this Dual Language Immersion center you will be a language model as assigned by program design. Language models will be using either Spanish Vietnamese or Mandarin during their working hours at the center.
  • Supports the scheduling of teaching staff to maintain required ratios and adequate classroom coverage.
  • Supports and ensures the development of appropriate curriculum that meets childrens individuals needs; supports teachers with lesson planning classroom management and developmental assessments.
  • Supports the compliance maintenance of licensing regulations health and safety standards accreditation criteria Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) staff permit requirements agency policies and Education Code as applicable.
  • Assists with maintaining and organizing site records including enrollment attendance meal counts curriculum documentation and parent participation logs.
  • Supports the coordination of monthly drills quarterly safety checklists and maintenance requests.
  • Provides on-site leadership and mentoring to teaching staff; assists with staff onboarding training and support to promote high-quality classroom practices.
  • Conducts performance evaluation processes including observations and coaching.
  • Greets children families and visitors daily maintaining positive and professional communication.
  • Provides classroom coverage when staff is limited and during breaks.
  • Supports family engagement activities including orientations family meetings Parent Advisory Committee and Policy Council meetings.
  • Supports child screening and assessment processes ensuring documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Helps ensure curriculum and environments are developmentally appropriate culturally responsive and aligned with Kidangos philosophy and NAEYC standards.
  • Supports referrals IFSP/IEP coordination and follow-up with specialists as directed by the Center Director.
  • Supports adherence to all health and safety requirements including sanitation supervision attendance tracking and mandated reporting.
  • Builds strong relationships with parents through parent conferences and community engagement; address parent concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assists with monitoring the facility to maintain a safe clean and engaging environment for children and staff.
  • Serves as the acting Center Director in the Directors absence.
  • Participates in meetings training and activities that support professional growth and strengthen center operations.
  • Ensures personalized special services are provided to children with special needs (i.e feeding assistance with toiling including diapering specialized equipment and so forth).
  • Serves as a backup Center Director and supports other centers when requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred qualifications

  • B.A. or A.A. in Early Childhood Education including 3 years teaching experience
  • Site supervisor permit required
  • Bi-Literate in Spanish (required) and/or Mandarin Vietnamese (Preferred)
  • Required CPR/First Aid Training Certification
  • Completion of CCL Record Keeping Component
  • 16 hours of health and safety training which includes 1 hour of nutrition training
  • Required to be a mandated abuse reporter
Compensation
$90581.28$90581.28 USD

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a health screening and TB test
  • Must pass background fingerprint clearance
  • Valid Driver License
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs may be needed during some job duties
