Job Duties:

AFood Service Assistantprepares food and completes related tasks according to quality and safety standards to ensure satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals. Provides oversight for the set-up and maintenance of all front of the house service-related tasks and ensures a clean and safe service area. This position works closely with students student managers and limited term employees to serve customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • 20% Performs routine food preparation activities such as portioning chopping food and serving food to customers

  • 20% Assists and guides student workers

  • 20% Greets customers answers questions and provides basic information regarding food preparation and associated activities

  • 10% Prepares a variety of basic dishes and assists in the preparation of more complex dishes

  • 10% Cleans inspects and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas

  • 10% Adheres to federal state and local food safety regulations policies and procedures

  • 10% Coordinate and perform the set-up and clean-up of preparation production service areas and equipment

Key Job Responsibilities:

Department:

The mission ofRestaurant Operationsis to provide a quality dining experience at an affordable price that enhances campus life and supports the overall mission of the University. It is the responsibility of Restaurant Operations to operate in a fiscally responsible manner contribute fair-share support to the University and sustain adequate reserves for future growth.

Number of Positions: 2

Tentative Schedule: Monday-Friday: 6:00am-2:30pm

Compensation: $15/hr-$17/hr
