Position: Full Time Billing Specialist
Department: Salem Home Medical
Shift: Days
PURPOSE
The primary purpose of your position as Billing Specialist is to perform assigned duties in an efficient manner in accordance with established procedures and as directed by the supervisor to assure that a successful viable department is maintained at all times. The Billing Specialist is to assist in the billing and follow up area of the Patient Accounting department as directed by supervision. The duties and daily work depends on the workload and back log. The supervisor will evaluate the work loads and direct as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Acute Care facility billing experience.
- Strong Computer skills.
- Knowledgeable in CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Ability to communicate with various insurance payers and other hospital departments.
- Experience in filing claim appeals with insurance companies to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- Responsible use of confidential information.
- Strong written verbal and argumentative skills when dealing with insurance carriers.
- Ability to multi-task.
