Your New Role...
The Manager EMEA Studios Accounting is a critical role within Warner Bros. Discoverys accounting team responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations for the Studios business across EMEA territories. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and complete financial records in compliance with US GAAP and company policies. The Manager will lead process improvements manage the relationship with outsourced accounting providers and support financial accuracy compliance and operational efficiency across the region. The role also involves working closely with cross-functional teams to support key business decisions and regulatory compliance.

Your Role Accountabilities...
1. General Accounting and Oversight:
Oversee general accounting operations for various Studios businesses within EMEA territories ensuring accuracy and timeliness of monthly close activities.
Lead the month-end close process including the preparation review and approval of journal entries and financial reports in compliance with US GAAP
Review and analyze financial results ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Supervise the preparation and review of trial balances ensuring necessary adjustments and reconciliations for balance sheet accuracy.
Ensure strong internal controls are in place to manage financial risks and regulatory compliance.
Provide oversight and guidance to the outsourced accounting team based in India improving efficiency and standardizing processes across the region.
Act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and audits.
2. Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation:
Serve as a key financial advisor to senior management offering insights and guidance to support critical business decisions.
Collaborate with other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve intercompany discrepancies.
Interact with third partys auditors to maintain strong relationships and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
3. Financial Process Improvements:
Lead process improvement initiatives focusing on automation and digital transformation within the accounting function to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Identify opportunities for greater efficiency in financial workflows.
4. System and Process Integration:
Actively participate in ERP system upgrades and post-merger integrations ensuring seamless financial reporting and compliance across multiple regions.
Collaborate with the IT team on system improvements ensuring financial data accuracy and alignment with company objectives.
5. Leadership and Team Development:
Mentor and develop the accounting staff fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Provide coaching training and performance evaluations for both in-house and outsourced teams ensuring optimal team performance and alignment with global financial goals.
Evaluate team workloads and make necessary adjustments to meet dynamic business requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting required; Masters degree in Accounting is a plus.
CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) strongly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Experience in media/entertainment industry accounting is a plus.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance
Experience managing remote teams and working with outsourced service providers.
Proven ability to work with accounting teams across different regions understanding diverse regulatory environments especially in EMEA.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong technical accounting and financial skills with proficiency in SAP and financial reporting systems.
Experience with automating manual accounting processes and driving digital transformation within finance functions.
High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and cultures.
Change-positive attitude adaptable to shifting business needs and priorities.
Additional Requirements:
Strong experience working in a multicultural environment with the ability to manage cross-functional teams across multiple countries and regions.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a high-demand environment.
